Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines for responsible use of the Expetize platform.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules for using Expetize responsibly. It applies to all users and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violations may result in immediate account suspension.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use Expetize to:

  • Verify email addresses you have collected with proper consent
  • Clean your email marketing lists to improve deliverability
  • Validate email addresses submitted through your own forms or products
  • Reduce bounce rates on legitimate email campaigns
  • Verify business contact information for B2B outreach you are legally permitted to conduct

3. Prohibited Uses

Spam & Unsolicited Communication

  • Verifying lists for the purpose of sending unsolicited commercial email (spam)
  • Building or augmenting lists of people who have not consented to receive communication from you
  • Circumventing unsubscribe requests or opt-out lists

Illegal Activities

  • Any use that violates CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, or other applicable email marketing laws
  • Phishing, fraud, identity theft, or any deceptive practice
  • Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of individuals

Platform Abuse

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer or scrape the Service
  • Using automated tools to exceed fair usage limits
  • Sharing account credentials or reselling access without authorization
  • Attempting to probe or test vulnerabilities in our infrastructure

Sensitive Data

  • Uploading lists that include financial account numbers, SSNs, medical records, or similar sensitive information alongside email addresses

4. Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws including:

  • CAN-SPAM Act (United States)
  • CASL — Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation
  • GDPR — General Data Protection Regulation (EU/UK)
  • Australian Spam Act 2003
  • Information Technology Act, 2000 (India)

5. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations, suspend or terminate accounts found to be in violation, report illegal activity to appropriate authorities, and cooperate with legitimate legal requests. Account suspension due to AUP violations does not entitle users to refunds.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any use of Expetize that violates this policy, please report it to abuse@expetize.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
